Who we are

We are the Santa Daddies. A devout collective of spartans believing that a divine goose holds the key to eternal salvation.

We participate in Goose Hunt while wearing Santa hats.

We are not a cult.

Origins

During excavations of The Ark (Installation 00), archaeologists discovered Forerunner artifacts depicting a mysterious goose. We believe the Goose was a divine entity worshipped by a Forerunner sect.

Many other artifacts have since been discovered, reinforcing our beliefs and inspiring our rituals.

Goose God Artifacts

Santa Hat

The goose wears what appears to be a Santa hat in some artifacts (seen below), which we interpret as divine instruction.

We wear the Santa hat as a symbol of our devotion to the Goose God and refer to ourselves as the Santa Daddies.

We call it the Sanctified Avian Transcendence Apparatus (or “SANTA hat” for short). The hat pleases the Goose God, and is prophesized to help achieve full Transcendence in the Goose Hunt ritual.

Goose Hunt

Goose Hunt is our sacred ritual. Spartans navigate a ring-shaped course on a Mongoose while being hunted by the rocket man. First to reach the Portal of Transcendence, teleport to the Platform of Ascension, and kill the rocket man wins.

This pleases the Goose God immensely.

Goose Hunt Symbology

• Ring Course: Represents a goose egg and the cyclical migrations of the Goose God through the Galatic Avian Plane. We believe this was also the design inspiration behind the Halo Rings.
• Mongoose: Because only the Goose God can carry us to salvation. Also it has goose right in the name.
• Rocket Man: Symbolizes the trials and tribulations of life and also the wrath of the Goose God upon non-believers.

Goose Hunt Traditions

• Sacrifices: Push the non-believers off the track as a sacrifice to the Goose God.
• Yeeting of the Goose: Yeet your Mongoose just before entering the Portal of Transcendence. This acts as the final sacrifice and is a demonstration of faith.
• Ritualistic Dance: Performed upon reaching the Platform of Ascension. Typically duck strafing. An artistic offering to the Goose God.
• Mongoose Horn Honking: Mimics the divine goose honk, showing our devotion and intimidating the non-believers.
